Senior Total Loss Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +20 more states.

📋 Description

• Provide answers to customer inquiries regarding the claims handling process and insurance coverage.

• Manage all facets of resolving total loss claims for both carrier-retained and owner-retained salvage vehicles in a cost-efficient manner.

• Utilize various resources to establish accurate valuations for total loss vehicles.

• Deliver customer service to insured parties, third-party claimants, and lienholders concerning total loss and salvage issues.

• Clearly comprehend and articulate the total loss process to customers, as well as the value of their total loss vehicles.

• Negotiate settlements for total loss claims with customers.

• Adhere to state Department of Motor Vehicle regulations related to the settlement of total loss vehicles (both owner retained and company retained).

• Manage the salvage process for total loss vehicles, including transferring vehicles to storage locations or salvage vendors swiftly.

• Dispatch the necessary DMV forms and company-required documents, reviewing them upon receipt.

• Follow state and federal laws, Department of Insurance requirements, insurance carrier standards, and Aspire General Insurance Company partner policies, procedures, and work rules.

• Maintain regular and reliable punctuality and attendance.

• Support the claims department by undertaking special projects.

• Assist team members with more complex or challenging losses.

• Work on and/or lead special projects as requested by management.

• Complete the majority of tasks with minimal supervision.

• Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Total Loss.

• Capacity to learn and understand insurance industry practices, standards, and terminology is preferred.

• Must successfully pass a background check.

• Experience in the related insurance industry is advantageous.

• Bilingual abilities are a plus.

• Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, Outlook, web-based systems, and able to type at least 35 words per minute.

• Must exhibit a disciplined approach to all job-related activities.

• Should possess a strong foundation in personal organization, sound decision-making, analytical skills, and excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities.
