This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
β’ Drive the design and implementation of high-quality, maintainable C++ tools and workflows, focusing primarily on Unreal Engine.
β’ Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to comprehend complex requirements, propose effective solutions, and advocate for tools development initiatives.
β’ Independently oversee the entire lifecycle of tool projects, from ideation and prioritization to deployment and continuous support.
β’ Provide proactive ad hoc tools support, balancing immediate needs against broader development priorities without the need for constant oversight.
β’ Promote best practices in tools development, emphasizing their strategic significance for productivity and quality throughout the organization.
β’ Objectively assess the impact of tools and workflows on project productivity to guide prioritization decisions.
β’ Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers, enhancing the capabilities of the team.
β’ Extensive experience in writing production-level C++ code, with significant, demonstrable contributions to complex, large-scale codebases in collaborative projects.
β’ Proven experience in managing projects through their complete lifecycle, from concept to deployment and maintenance.
β’ Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively, discuss trade-offs, and advocate for quality standards.
β’ Experience in planning work according to priorities, risks, and the necessity to deliver value incrementally.
β’ Nice to have: Extensive experience with Unreal Engine or similar AAA game engines.
β’ Proficiency in UI/UX design, particularly with Slate, Editor Utility Widgets, or similar frameworks.
β’ Previous experience in mentorship or technical leadership within a game development context.
β’ Familiarity with a scripting language or system, such as Blueprint, Python, or MEL.
