Senior Test Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• You will report to the Software Development Manager and spearhead the development and implementation of both automated and manual testing for a diverse range of APIs across various technologies and platforms.

• In this position, you will convert intricate testing scenarios into efficient, user-friendly, and repeatable automated tests.

• You will take the lead in designing, developing, and maintaining automated tests, while also enhancing and optimizing existing automation frameworks and architecting new testing solutions as required.

• Your responsibilities will include creating and executing thorough manual testing strategies, accurately documenting test outcomes, diagnosing complex issues, and producing detailed defect reports with root cause analysis.

• You will design and implement strategies for test data management, developing robust data generation tools and frameworks to support both manual and automated testing requirements.

• You will lead and conduct functional, application, regression, integration, performance, load, and security testing, establishing testing standards and methodologies.

• You will cultivate an expert-level understanding of our application architecture, enabling you to foresee complex feature requirements and identify architectural gaps, edge cases, and potential system vulnerabilities.

• You will mentor scrum teams within an agile setting, fostering collaboration with developers, testers, product owners, and cross-functional teams to establish testing excellence and continuously innovate our testing strategies.

• You will engage in software release activities, partnering with various teams to ensure seamless deployments, manage release risks, and develop production monitoring strategies.

• You will collaborate on root cause analysis efforts, systematically reviewing logs and system behavior to resolve complex defects and implement preventive measures to mitigate future issues.

• You will promote and advocate for testing best practices throughout the organization, driving process enhancements, implementing quality metrics, and mentoring team members on testing methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in a testing role, with a background in creating both manual and automated tests.

• Advanced understanding of continuous integration, automation tools, industry standards, and best practices in test automation.

• Demonstrated ability to think analytically, solve problems, make decisions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

• Extensive experience in testing web-based applications and API testing, including performance and load testing.

• Familiarity with tools such as Bruno, Postman, or SoapUI, along with knowledge of additional testing frameworks and tools.

• Strong organizational skills with the capability to adapt and manage multiple activities while navigating changing priorities.

• Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar systems and processes and mentor junior team members.

• Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD processes.

• Proven experience leading test automation initiatives and defining testing strategies for intricate systems.

• Familiarity with automation tools like Cypress, Storybook, or Playwright is a plus.

• Experience in test architecture design and framework development.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Familiarity with AI technologies and their application within software development and testing is a plus.

• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and provide technical leadership during incidents.

• Proficiency in English in a business context is essential.
