Senior Test Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bangladesh.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain robust, scalable, and reusable test automation frameworks for our web applications and backend services.

• Lead the creation of automated test scripts, test suites, and testing strategies to ensure thorough test coverage.

• Conduct integration, functional, regression, smoke, performance, and security testing to uncover bugs or defects.

• Clearly understand the testing pyramid model and optimize efforts accordingly.

• Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT) and support clients in product validation.

• Promote and implement shift-left testing principles, incorporating quality checks early in the software development lifecycle.

• Develop, manage, and maintain test stubs and virtual services to isolate components and facilitate robust testing in a complex service-oriented architecture.

• Validate telephony integration points and end-to-end call flows.

• Seamlessly integrate automated testing into our CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and delivery, fostering a strong DevOps culture.

• Collaborate with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to comprehend requirements and define test plans for new features.

• Analyze test outcomes, identify and report defects, and collaborate with development teams to ensure prompt resolution.

• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior test automation engineers.

• Remain current with the latest industry trends, tools, and best practices in test automation and quality engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in software test automation.

• Strong proficiency in Java, Groovy, and Python for developing test automation.

• Solid experience with JavaScript for front-end test automation.

• Proven track record in designing and implementing test automation frameworks from the ground up.

• Extensive experience with web test automation tools and frameworks, including Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, or Playwright.

• Strong experience with API testing tools like SpockTest, Postman, Rest-Assured, or similar.

• Direct experience in testing applications that leverage telephony protocols.

• Demonstrated experience in creating and utilizing stubs and mocks to simulate dependencies.

• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.

• Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git.

• Experience with bug tracking and project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with a strong ability to work independently in a remote environment.

• Experience in performance and load testing of real-time communication applications (additional qualification).

• Knowledge of performance testing tools (LoadRunner, JMeter, or Gatling) (additional qualification).

• Familiarity with AI-powered testing tools like Testsigma, Supatest, Copado, etc. (additional qualification).

• Understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes (additional qualification).

• Proven ability to work effectively in a remote Agile/Scrum development team (additional qualification).

• Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (additional qualification).

• Experience with network analysis tools like Wireshark (additional qualification).
