Senior Technical Writer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Develop, organize, and sustain high-quality technical documentation utilizing contemporary documentation-as-code methodologies.

• Create and maintain API references, developer guides, quick start guides, and community resources with Markdown.

• Oversee the documentation lifecycle via GitHub, encompassing version control, branching, pull requests, and issue management.

• Employ Cursor IDE and Visual Studio Code to efficiently write, edit, and oversee documentation files.

• Apply documentation-as-code principles effectively.

• Work collaboratively with developers and other stakeholders to collect information and integrate feedback.

• Guarantee that documentation is precise, consistent, and adheres to Cisco’s style and formatting standards.

• Remain informed about new tools and best practices in technical writing and developer documentation.

• Expertise in Markdown for composing and formatting technical documentation.

• Significant experience with GitHub for source control and collaborative documentation efforts.

• Knowledge of documentation-as-code practices.

• Experience with Cursor IDE, including AI-supported content generation.

• Proficiency in Visual Studio Code, including extensions like GitHub Copilot for AI-assisted writing and scripting.

• Capability to create and manage documentation files in formats such as .md and .docx.

• Exceptional written communication skills with a keen eye for detail.

• Ability to collaborate effectively in an agile development setting.
