This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Strategize, compose, and refine content for both internal and external audiences to keep SCPO leadership and stakeholders updated on program developments, initiatives, and news.
β’ Create executive correspondence, briefings, talking points, and scripts for SCPO leadership.
β’ Formulate communication plans and strategies that support program milestones, events, and initiatives across teams.
β’ Conduct research, write, and edit newsletters, fact sheets, FAQs, reports, and web content.
β’ Ensure all content complies with VA documentation standards, plain language guidelines, and Section 508 accessibility requirements.
β’ Collect, analyze, and compile technical information for user manuals, training materials, installation and administrator guides, proposals, reports, and other program outputs.
β’ Review functional descriptions, system specifications, SOPs, and various technical documents for precision, consistency, and suitable technical or healthcare terminology.
β’ Convert intricate technical and clinical information into clear and comprehensible content for both technical and non-technical SCPO stakeholders.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Technical Writing, or a related discipline.
β’ Over 4 years of experience in communications, technical writing, or editing.
β’ Experience, preferably in supporting federal or healthcare programs, in developing communication plans and strategies.
β’ Proficient in writing and editing reports, newsletters, briefings, fact sheets, training materials, user manuals, and guidebooks.
β’ Strong proficiency with computer-based systems and the Microsoft Office Suite.
β’ Self-motivated individual with keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple writing and editing projects simultaneously.
β’ Experience in supporting VA/VHA and/or other federal health agencies is desirable.
β’ Experience in simplifying complex technical, clinical, or regulatory information into clear, plain-language content is preferred.
β’ Familiarity with VA documentation, branding, plain language, and Section 508 accessibility standards is advantageous.
