
Senior Technical Support Engineer – Solar & Storage Power Conversion Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the primary technical liaison for clients across North America.
• Establish enduring partnerships with customer engineering and operations teams.
• Facilitate technical discussions and resolve issues related to customer projects, field technicians, and technical leaders.
• Represent the technical capabilities and product value proposition of GE Vernova Power Conversion and Storage.
• Maintain technical relationships post-commissioning and serve as an escalation point.
• Lead root cause analysis and troubleshooting for power conversion systems, inverters, and BESS.
• Monitor system performance and pinpoint opportunities for enhancing reliability, availability, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with service teams to address technical issues after commissioning.
• Handle technical deviations and ensure fault reports are tracked to closure.
• Provide technical assistance to site engineers both remotely and on-site.
• Conduct technical reviews and site visits.
• Document field findings, resolutions, and lessons learned.
• Relay customer requirements, field feedback, and priorities internally.
• Work in collaboration with Systems Engineering, Design Engineering, Product Management, Project Management, and Leadership.
• Create site assessments, root cause analysis summaries, and customer-facing technical specifications.
• Keep records of technical issues, performance trends, and customer satisfaction metrics.
• Contribute to commissioning procedures, field service guidelines, and internal knowledge resources.
• Report on account technical status, field issues, and customer health indicators to leadership.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related technical field.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant engineering experience in power systems or related areas.
• Proven leadership experience in customer-facing technical roles.
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% annually.
• Practical experience with industrial inverters, UPS systems, rectifiers, and power electronics.
• Experience in commissioning complex power conversion and storage systems, including system integration, functional testing, and customer acceptance.
• Senior-level experience in managing technical customer relationships and conducting design and operational reviews.
• A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with BESS, lithium-ion technologies, BMS integration, and safety protocols is preferred.
• Proven experience in troubleshooting and root cause analysis in mission-critical environments is preferred.
• Familiarity with power monitoring platforms and energy management tools is preferred.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, IEC, and ASHRAE standards is preferred.
• Previous experience in senior field engineering, application engineering, or technical account management is preferred.
• Familiarity with GE Vernova or similar power conversion and energy storage product lines is preferred.
• Project Management experience or PMP certification is a plus.
• Experience working with large-scale industrial or utility-scale operators is preferred.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical teams and senior customer leadership.
• Capability to lead without direct authority.
• Strong decision-making skills in high-stakes field settings.
• Ability to manage multiple customer accounts and technical challenges in a dynamic environment.
