This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Engaging position to lead the big data engineering team and propel Alkami’s data strategy forward.
• This role is essential in defining our data infrastructure to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in product and engineering to design and implement scalable data platforms that drive business results.
• Lead, recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of data engineers and managers.
• Take responsibility for the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of scalable data systems and solutions.
• Ensure the continuous availability and exceptional quality of data to satisfy various business and operational needs.
• Propel the automation of data processes and the creation of highly scalable solutions.
• Regularly evaluate and incorporate the latest data management tools, technologies, and industry best practices.
• Advocate for robust data governance practices, enforce strict security protocols, and ensure full compliance with global industry regulations and company policies.
• A proven background of at least 12+ years in data and platform engineering or similar technical roles.
• At least 5+ years of experience in a leadership or managerial role within fintech or financial services.
• Experience in building and delivering data platforms at petabyte scale in fintech, banking, or marketing technology sectors.
• Proven capabilities as a Data Architect in designing and constructing real-time and batch processing data pipelines.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with a broad range of data engineering tools and technologies, including but not limited to Python, PySpark SQL, Airflow, Parquet, Kafka, and Spark.
• Strong experience with leading cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, along with comprehensive knowledge of big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, metastores, and catalogs.
• A solid understanding and practical experience with DevOps practices and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines specifically designed for data engineering workflows.
• Proven ability to effectively manage and scale large-scale data infrastructure, catering to both high-volume batch processing and demanding real-time data streams.
• Familiarity with established data governance frameworks, strong data quality methodologies, and advanced data security practices.
• Excellent communication skills, allowing for clear and concise presentation of complex data concepts to both highly technical teams and non-technical business partners.
• A genuine enthusiasm for harnessing the power of data to generate actionable business insights and achieve measurable outcomes.
• Familiarity with Cursor or AI tools (e.g., Claude, OpenAI Codex) to automate coding tasks, debug code, and optimize SQL/Python code.
• Experience in building ingestion, ETL, or analytics platforms, preferably using AWS and open-source stacks.
