This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Review and edit security reports related to application security, blockchain, cryptography, AI/ML, as well as research and engineering projects.
• Create, edit, and publish articles on the Trail of Bits blog, which serves as the primary platform for our research and thought leadership.
• Oversee publication management through GitHub pull requests and liaise with both internal and external reviewers.
• Administer the team's report tracker and quality metrics systems, providing leadership with insights into editing throughput, revision cycles, and delivery timelines.
• Develop and enhance Claude-based tools for content creation and editorial improvement.
• Direct document design beyond reports, including statements of work (SOWs), proposals, engineer biographies, program overviews, quarterly business review (QBR) materials, case studies, and testimonials.
• Influence the evolution of editorial standards and style guides.
• Exceptional editorial skills, with a strong command of grammar, mechanics, and style.
• Experience with technical content editing, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and conciseness in cybersecurity or similar technical domains.
• Technical fluency and resourcefulness, with a foundational understanding of cybersecurity being advantageous for this position.
• Proactive storytelling instincts, actively seeking narratives rather than waiting for briefs from engineers.
• Strong writing skills, capable of producing original content beyond merely refining others' work.
• Awareness of content marketing, recognizing the role of content in driving business prospects.
• Proficiency with various tools, comfortable navigating developer-centric workflows such as GitHub, Hugo, Slack, markdown, and AI-assisted editing tools like Claude.
• A sense of ownership and autonomy, functioning effectively with minimal supervision.
