This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Offer strategic and technical guidance in the formulation of humanitarian, recovery, resilience, and humanitarian-development-peace nexus programs.
• Convert donor priorities, contextual analyses, assessments, and organizational strategies into creative program concepts.
• Spearhead technical proposal development for key humanitarian and development funding avenues.
• Incorporate protection, emergency preparedness and response, early recovery, and nexus strategies into program designs.
• Ensure technical quality assurance through guidance, reviews, and adaptive learning practices.
• Act as Proposal Lead or Technical Lead for high-priority bids.
• Create technical narratives, implementation strategies, and Theories of Change.
• Assist in capture planning, opportunity positioning, competitive analysis, and partner engagement initiatives.
• Draft concept notes, proposals, strategic papers, donor reports, briefing notes, case studies, and learning products.
• Evaluate proposal quality, consistency, and compliance prior to submission.
• Integrate evidence, data, lessons learned, and organizational experience into proposals.
• Identify and document innovations, promising practices, and lessons learned.
• Develop organizational guidelines, templates, and program design tools.
• Contribute to the organization’s thought leadership in humanitarian programming and business development.
• Design and conduct training and informal mentorship to enhance technical writing and program design skills.
• Collaborate with the Director of Business Development & Partnerships, country offices, technical advisors, BD advisors, MEL team, and partnerships teams.
• Master’s degree in public health, International Development, Humanitarian Assistance, Social Sciences, Economics, Monitoring and Evaluation, or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in humanitarian programming, program design, and international development.
• Proven experience in leading successful proposals for significant institutional donors.
• Strong grasp of humanitarian architecture and the humanitarian-development-peace nexus programming.
• Established history of guiding successful proposal development processes for bilateral, multilateral, and private sector donors.
• Experience in multicultural, multi-country environments and engaging with global teams and stakeholders.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to adapt complex technical content for diverse audiences.
• Experience in humanitarian settings and with humanitarian actors is preferred.
• Proficiency in graphic design and desktop publishing is a plus.
• Experience in mentoring staff and enhancing capacity is preferred.
• Fluency in French, Portuguese, or Arabic is an advantage.
