Senior Team Member Relations Partner

📋 Description

• Assist managers in navigating intricate team member relations issues, such as performance management, investigations, and adherence to policies.

• Oversee sensitive investigations from the initial intake to resolution, encompassing interviews, internal data analysis, investigation reports, and recommendations.

• Provide coaching and advice to leaders regarding complex team member relations challenges and organizational risks.

• Support proactive initiatives aimed at preventing workplace issues from escalating.

• Collaborate with Legal and People Business Partners on team member relations cases to ensure consistent decision-making.

• Create, implement, and update policies that align with applicable requirements and the values of GitLab.

• Examine case trends and disseminate insights to enhance programs, policies, and strategies for risk reduction.

• Participate in Team Member Relations and organization-wide initiatives alongside cross-functional stakeholders.

• Interpret employment laws and regulations, offering guidance across various jurisdictions.

• Act as a subject matter expert for leaders and partners across different regions.


⛳️ Requirements

• Progressive experience in employee or team member relations, including leading complex, multi-party workplace investigations.

• Familiarity with United States employment law, incorporating FMLA, ADA, Title VII, and EEOC processes.

• Experience in a distributed, multi-jurisdictional, or global organization.

• Capability to adjust guidance according to varying regulatory and cultural contexts.

• Ability to influence change across functions without direct authority.

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.

• Proficient in drafting well-supported investigation reports.

• Possess sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion, and demonstrate empathy in sensitive situations.

• Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking abilities, business judgment, attention to detail, and reliability.

• Capacity to work at a relatively fast pace.

• SHRM-CP, PHR, or an equivalent certification is preferred but not mandatory.
