This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Prepare, review, and submit U.S. indirect tax filings, which include sales and use tax, gross receipts tax, excise tax, personal property tax, and other relevant state and local tax submissions.
• Maintain and oversee a detailed calendar for indirect tax filing and payment deadlines.
• Conduct research and analysis on the indirect tax implications of business transactions in accordance with applicable U.S. state and local tax regulations.
• Monitor and assist with state and local tax registration and filing responsibilities, including assessing nexus and factors that create new obligations.
• Generate reports and extract, analyze, and reconcile Deltek Vantagepoint data with the general ledger, trial balances, and tax returns.
• Investigate discrepancies and issues related to data integrity.
• Keep organized, precise, audit-ready documentation and workpapers.
• Manage and facilitate state and local tax audits, including data collection, documentation, responses, issue resolution, and coordination with external tax advisors.
• Research and address state and local tax notices and correspondence.
• Identify opportunities to enhance and streamline indirect tax processes, controls, and compliance procedures.
• Oversee and maintain sales tax exemption and reseller certificates.
• Assist with tax due diligence and post-acquisition integration efforts.
• Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Procurement, and other departments on tax-related matters and projects.
• Provide ad hoc analysis and support for technical tax issues, due diligence, and business initiatives.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related discipline.
• Over 5 years of experience in U.S. indirect tax.
• In-depth experience in sales and use tax, property tax, gross receipts tax, and other state and local tax issues.
• Practical experience in managing or assisting with multi-jurisdictional indirect tax compliance.
• Direct experience with Deltek Vantagepoint, including the ability to run reports, extract and analyze transactional data, and reconcile ERP data with the general ledger, trial balances, and tax returns.
• Proven experience supporting or managing state and local tax audits.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Capability to handle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adjust to evolving business needs.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across functions.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• CPA, MST, or other relevant professional tax qualifications are highly preferred.
• Previous experience in a corporate tax department and/or public accounting is advantageous.
• Big 4 experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry or similar professional services environments is preferred.
