This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Review and prepare federal, state, and local income tax returns, focusing mainly on partnership filings along with some corporate filings, including Forms 1065 and 1120.
• Ensure the timely and accurate submission of tax returns in compliance with tax regulations and company policies.
• Review and prepare workpapers for tax returns, tax depreciation reports, and calculations for quarterly tax distributions.
• Review and prepare quarterly and annual tax provisions in adherence to ASC 740 (FAS 109) concerning U.S. tax matters.
• Review and prepare non-income tax submissions, such as personal property tax and franchise tax returns.
• Research intricate tax issues and interpret tax laws, regulations, and court rulings to formulate tax-reduction strategies.
• Assist in tax planning for mergers, acquisitions, and corporate restructuring initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for tax savings and enhancements to the tax function.
• Support internal and external tax audits by preparing necessary documentation and addressing inquiries.
• Collaborate with various departments to provide necessary information to auditors.
• Recommend enhancements to tax processes and maintain documentation for tax compliance and planning.
• Assist in the initial implementation of tax software and the importation of prior-year tax locators.
• Mentor and guide junior tax team members.
• Work together with finance, accounting, legal, and other departments to resolve tax notices and issues.
• Engage in team training and development activities.
• Monitor changes in federal, state, and international tax laws and regulations.
• Assist with various ad-hoc tax projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Over 3 years of experience in public accounting, industry, or a combination of both.
• Familiarity with tax software and accounting systems, such as OneSource, CCH Axcess, Corptax, or similar applications.
• Foundational knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations, including corporate and partnership taxation.
• Capability to manage multiple priorities and adhere to tight deadlines.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and research abilities.
• Detail-oriented with a strong emphasis on accuracy in tax filings and reporting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex tax issues clearly.
• Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
• CPA designation preferred.
• Master’s degree in taxation or accounting is an advantage.
