This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead and facilitate mission engineering studies utilizing the MEG v2.0 methodology.
• Establish mission problem statements, characterize missions, and outline analyses for acquisition, modernization, or resource allocation decisions.
• Create and sustain digital mission architectures in UAF/UAFML, encompassing mission threads and mission engineering threads.
• Implement the UAF grid across strategic, operational, services, resources, personnel, security, projects, and standards domains.
• Produce DoDAF-compliant views from UAF models when necessary.
• Define mission metrics such as MOEs, MOPs, and MOSs, ensuring traceability to SysML requirements and design parameters.
• Construct and uphold enterprise, mission, and system architecture models in CATIA Magic/Cameo utilizing UAFML and SysML.
• Design and carry out mission-level modeling and simulation using AFSIM, MATLAB/Simulink, or Ansys STK.
• Integrate architecture models, engineering analyses, and simulations into a cohesive digital thread.
• Verify, validate, and document models and simulations in accordance with DoW M&S policy.
• Generate mission engineering and systems engineering deliverables, including architecture views, analysis plans, study reports, briefs, CONOPS, requirements documentation, and interface definitions.
• Assist with experimentation, prototyping, and wargaming activities.
• Align Coast Guard mission architectures with DHS, DoW, Joint, and partner architectures.
• Set UAF modeling standards, style guides, governance, and configuration management practices.
• Collaborate with cloud, cybersecurity, and data teams to ensure secure model and simulation environments.
• Present results to both technical and non-technical audiences at governance boards, mission reviews, technical reviews, and program briefings.
• Support technical roadmaps, ecosystem strategies, implementation plans, risk monitoring, and workforce competency development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering, Computer Science, Operations Research, or a related field, along with 8–10 years of relevant experience, or 6–10 years with a Master’s degree; additional experience may be accepted in place of a degree.
• Proven experience in developing enterprise and mission architectures in UAF/UAFML (UAF 1.2 or later) using Cameo Enterprise Architecture or CATIA Magic, along with multi-domain traceability across the UAF grid and integration with SysML system models.
• Demonstrated capability in conducting or directly aiding mission engineering studies, which includes mission characterization, mission thread and mission engineering thread development, mission metric definition, and analysis of alternative mission architectures.
• Familiarity with the DoW Mission Engineering Guide v2.0, DoWI 5000.88, and DoWI 5000.97.
• Experience with modeling and simulation using AFSIM, MATLAB/Simulink, or Ansys STK, which includes scenario development, execution, and result analysis.
• OMG Certified Systems Modeling Professional (OCSMP) Model Builder certification.
• Background in supporting complex federal IT, systems engineering, or modernization programs.
• Understanding of systems engineering lifecycle and requirements management practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DHS Public Trust clearance.
• Preferred: OMG Certified UAF Professional (OCUP or UAF certification).
• Preferred: Experience with DoWAF-to-UAF migration or DoWAF view generation from UAF models.
• Preferred: Experience integrating UAF/SysML mission architectures with AFSIM or Ansys STK scenarios.
• Preferred: Experience supporting OUSD(R&E) mission engineering activities, Service mission engineering organizations, or experimentation campaigns.
• Preferred: Knowledge of SysML v2, its API and services, and model interoperability approaches.
• Preferred: Proficiency in Python or MATLAB for simulation automation, model queries, and data analysis.
• Preferred: Familiarity with operations research methods, HLA/DIS, or cloud-based simulation environments.
• Preferred: Experience supporting U.S. Coast Guard, DHS, or DoW mission engineering, wargaming, or analytical modeling and simulation programs.
• Preferred: INCOSE CSEP/ESEP, DAU or Service mission engineering coursework, or Ansys STK / AFSIM training.
• Camera-on interview with the interviewer taking a picture for identification purposes if an offer is extended.
