Senior Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design architecture, implement projects, and resolve issues related to server hardware & software, system applications, and data processing.

• Serve as the main point of contact for data center infrastructure, cloud services, and server operations, encompassing provisioning, maintenance, backup & recovery.

• Function as a strategic consultant to IT Infrastructure leadership.

• Oversee computer servers, network health, file backups, antivirus, and EDR servers.

• Conduct maintenance windows, testing, disaster recovery planning, and manage unplanned outages.

• Supervise email services, including the administration and provisioning of mailboxes, calendars, and distribution lists.

• Document system configurations and monitor changes.

• Offer mentorship and technical guidance to system administrators and support personnel.

• Act as an escalation point for System Administrators, Desktop, and Helpdesk analysts.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent technical experience is mandatory.

• 8-12+ years of experience with Microsoft Windows Server, SQL Server, Exchange, DNS, Microsoft365, Azure, and all associated technologies (Entra ID, virtual machines, networking, storage, defender, etc.) is required.

• At least 3 years in a senior or lead-level position.

• Strong expertise in Microsoft Intune is essential.

• Proven experience in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting Active Directory is required.

• Experience in leading enterprise-wide initiatives is necessary.

• Familiarity with monitoring and observability platforms (such as Azure Monitor, SCOM, SolarWinds, etc.) is required.

• Significant experience with SAN, NAS storage, and backup technologies is essential.

• Experience collaborating with web hosting vendors and managing cloud-hosted servers is necessary.

• In-depth knowledge of virtualization technologies (Hyper-V and VMWare) is required.

• Experience with high-availability technologies, including load-balancing and clustering, is essential.

• Advanced proficiency in scripting languages (such as PowerShell, VBS, etc.) for task automation is required.

• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, basic routing, VPNs, and firewalls is necessary.

• Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is required for this position.
