Senior System Safety Engineer – Digital Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Leverage AI-Driven Tools: Employ our proprietary AI platform to assist in safety assessments (FHA, FTA, STPA, HARA) and enhance routine safety evaluations.

• Human-in-the-Loop Validation: Carefully analyze, enhance, and verify AI-generated safety results to guarantee complete technical precision and adherence to military and commercial standards.

• Product Feedback Loop: Collaborate directly with our software product team to offer real-world user insights, assisting in the development of features, user interface, and functionalities of our platform.

• Customer Strategy: Advise top clients in Defense, Auto, and Energy sectors to articulate their Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and Operational Design Domains (ODD).

• Derive Safety Requirements: Establish safety requirements for systems/subsystems, define hardware/software Level of Rigor (LoR), and monitor mitigations from design to verification.

• Deliver Modern Safety Cases: Produce comprehensive Safety Assessment Reports (SAR) and Digital Safety Cases, guiding clients toward dynamic digital engineering environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• US Work Authorization: A prerequisite for employment (No sponsorship is available).

• Experience: 4 to 10 years of specialized experience in system safety engineering.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.

• Standard Fluency: Demonstrated experience in implementing compliance frameworks such as MIL-STD 882E, JSSSEH, ISO 26262, ISO 21448 (SOTIF), ARP-4761, or DO-178.

• Core Analysis Toolkit: Expertise in traditional techniques (PHA, FHA, SHA, FTA, FMECA) as well as contemporary methodologies like STPA (Systems-Theoretic Process Analysis).

• Documentation Mastery: Proven experience in creating formal Safety Program Plans (SSPP), Safety Cases, and Safety Assessment Reports (SAR).
