This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +11 more states.
• Evaluate, develop, monitor, enhance, and report on supplier performance and quality.
• Perform Supplier Quality responsibilities, which include conducting audits, managing FAIRs, investigating nonconformances, assigning corrective actions, resolving issues, and maintaining documentation and reports.
• Formulate, uphold, and implement quality plans and initiatives that translate customer requirements into actionable activities.
• Offer technical training and guidance to junior engineers, technicians, inspectors, and entry-level quality engineers.
• Analyze program requirements and prepare quality plans, procedures, schedules, and allocate resources accordingly.
• Review and endorse engineering, testing, contractor, and supplier documentation.
• Conduct internal audits and ensure that root-cause corrective actions are implemented.
• Lead teams focused on product quality improvements, participate in Material Review Boards, and engage in Failure Review Boards.
• Assess and manage non-conforming materials.
• Assist Assembly, Test, and Inspection teams through improvement plans, inspection techniques, criteria, sampling plans, specification interpretation/revisions, and processing of non-conforming materials.
• Address customer quality concerns and facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions for both process and product quality issues.
• Aid in the development and implementation of SPC initiatives.
• Independently analyze and manage projects.
• Maintain communication with company personnel and customers.
• Assess critical supplier selections and promote continuous improvement, including conducting on-site audits, prototype evaluations, and reviewing/approving supplier corrective actions.
• Lead and fulfill customer quality program requirements.
• Generate statistical reports on inspection and testing outcomes and recommend appropriate actions.
• Establish programs that evaluate the precision and accuracy of production, processing, testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.
• Take into account the financial implications of quality process controls and inspections.
• Attend meetings related to customers, business, and programs.
• Prepare quality engineering reports and provide recommendations.
• Deliver regular progress updates and status reports.
• Complete assigned tasks punctually while meeting technical specifications.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Over 5 years of relevant experience in supplier quality engineering.
• Strong technical expertise and knowledge of the application domain.
• Familiarity with ISO Standards, Six Sigma tools, and statistical methods.
• ASQ certification or Black Belt is preferred.
• Ability to interpret military specifications and read blueprints.
• Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, communication, and writing abilities.
• Capability to identify problems and effectively drive root cause analysis and corrective actions.
