Senior Substation Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee all aspects of electric transmission, distribution, and substation infrastructure projects.

• Lead the coordination and performance evaluation across various project teams.

• Manage project schedules, program budgets, resource allocation, and strategies for mitigating portfolio risks.

• Collaborate with client stakeholders to ensure project priorities are aligned and to address escalated issues.

• Serve as a utilities subject matter expert while promoting regional business development initiatives.

• Identify, monitor, and evaluate project risks throughout the lifecycle, implementing necessary corrective actions.

• Assign tasks, establish priorities, and track progress to ensure that project milestones are achieved.

• Monitor and report on key performance metrics such as cost, schedule adherence, and project readiness.

• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including procedural guides and project-specific materials like contracts, permits, drawings, and change orders.

• Identify opportunities for process enhancements to improve delivery efficiency and reduce wildfire risks.

• Recognize opportunities for process improvements, efficiency enhancements, and cost savings.

• Ensure adherence to utility standards, regulatory requirements, and public safety protocols.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of project management experience in the electric utility sector is required.

• Direct experience in managing electric substation, transmission, and distribution infrastructure projects is essential.

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.

• PMP certification or equivalent training is preferred.

• In-depth knowledge of electric utility construction methodologies, permitting processes, and regulatory landscapes.

• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement abilities are essential.

• Proficient in using Primavera P6, Power BI, MS Project, SAP, and portfolio reporting tools.

• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
