Senior Structural Engineer, Italy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy.

📋 Description

• Create civil and structural design documentation, which includes drawings and calculations.

• Serve as the signing engineer for structural engineering projects in Italy, certifying calculations and technical reports in compliance with national regulations.

• Oversee the administrative and technical engineering documentation workflows with local authorities.

• Lead and coach team members, ensuring high technical standards, professional growth, and balanced workloads.

• Support the project development phase by reviewing relevant site information, calculations, and cost estimates.

• Conduct wind, seismic, foundation, and various other structural calculations.

• Provide construction assistance, manage RFIs, submittals, and technical calculation packages.

• Contribute to the development of Nextpower products and attain a comprehensive understanding of the Nextpower product catalog.

• Collaborate with Nextpower's Structural/Civil/Geotechnical Engineers in different regions.

• Manage timelines and evaluate the work and deliverables of external structural and civil engineering consultants.

• Aid in the growth of the Nextpower Design Services team.

• Supervise the creation of new structural sections and their integration into standard Nextpower systems.

• Represent Nextpower in technical forums by authoring white papers, presenting at conferences, and staying informed about current trends and advancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or an equivalent field.

• Must be a chartered/licensed professional engineer in Italy (Abilitazione all'esercizio della professione / Iscrizione all'Ordine degli Ingegneri).

• Demonstrated history and direct experience in managing structural documents and processing files with the Genio Civile.

• In-depth knowledge of Italian structural construction codes (NTC) and regional authorization processes.

• At least 5 years of experience in structural engineering within the EPC, renewable energy, or infrastructure sectors.

• Proven leadership experience, including mentoring or managing engineering teams.

• Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, LPile, and other structural analysis software (RISA, STAAD, or similar).

• Comprehensive understanding of engineering standards and codes, including but not limited to: Italian NTC, Eurocodes, ASCE, AISC, AISI, and IBC.

• Extensive experience in structural analysis and design, covering dead, live, snow, wind, and seismic loads, design of steel and concrete structures, and preparation of construction documents.

• Must be fluent in both English and Italian. Proficiency in Spanish is an advantage.

• Willingness to travel occasionally for site investigations, field support, or meetings with local authorities.
