This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.
• Directs the formulation of access and contracting strategies and recommendations, from conception through implementation, to enhance patient access and safeguard Genentech’s profitability across all products and numerous key customers within the P/PBM sector.
• Acts as an intermediary between CE Account Teams, PCD, External Affairs, Legal, and Squad/Access Business Partners to create customer strategies that align with Brand/TA objectives.
• Maneuvers through significant uncertainty and spearheads high-impact, cross-portfolio initiatives to devise access and contracting strategies for emerging customer types, new segments, and/or TAs or segments necessitating innovative access methods or where GNE has limited exposure.
• Offers negotiation support to account teams by elucidating the rationale behind access strategies, foreseeing customer responses and needs, and supplying relevant negotiation talking points as necessary.
• Compiles essential contract performance insights from various key customers within the P/PBM sector, identifying and disseminating scalable insights or key learnings to relevant leaders (such as Squad Leads, CE National and Regional VPs, Access Steering Committee, and others as appropriate) to guide contract decision-making and influence product-level contracting strategies.
• Aids in strategic account planning with key customers, taking into account future customer capabilities, brand and portfolio goals and evolution, and shared priorities between Genentech and key customers in the near and mid-term.
• Utilizes customer insights and integrates the customer's perspective to shape the account landscape concerning access and contracting challenges, then converting these insights into actionable solutions to address and resolve these issues.
• Works closely with various CSS leaders as strategies may have repercussions and interdependencies with other customers and segments, often influencing priorities, evolving workflows, and partnering across teams on strategic viewpoints.
• Collaborates extensively with a wide range of stakeholders across multiple functions, including CE Account Teams, Policy and External Affairs, PCD, CCM colleagues (Managed Care Contracts, Customer SI, Government Programs, etc. as appropriate), SAI, Marketing, and others to generate insights and develop comprehensive customer solutions that align with organizational/TA objectives.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of pertinent work experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including payer or contracting strategy, account management, consulting, market analysis, health economics, distribution strategy, and/or managed care finance.
• 5+ years of experience in a Market Access role.
• Extensive and varied US Market Access experience encompassing multiple therapeutic areas.
• Proficient in pricing, contracting, distribution, and/or policy strategies within the US segment landscape.
• Considerable experience in designing and executing access strategies.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the reimbursement environment and strategy within a segment; Proven success in collaborating and influencing across cross-functional teams.
• Strategic mindset for proactively identifying challenges and generating solutions within a complex and dynamic environment.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present to and engage with a diverse range of audiences.
