This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist the Obesity Therapeutic Area Leadership Team and collaborate with VPs in Global Development for Obesity.
• Aid the function head in developing strategies, setting goals, executing organizational plans, managing communications, overseeing projects, and implementing functional initiatives.
• Create reports, dashboards, and presentations, which include Operating/Business Reviews, All-Staff presentations, and performance reports for the business.
• Design and manage functional budgeting and resource planning, ensuring alignment with the global budgeting process.
• Supervise the validation and upkeep of functional resource algorithms and assess resource forecasting.
• Facilitate headcount tracking and approvals for new positions; collaborate with leaders and HR on recruitment, onboarding, and talent management.
• Transform unstructured business challenges and requests into actionable plans and projects with significant outcomes.
• Organize functional leadership and staff meetings, including drafting agendas, creating presentations, and coordinating external speaker engagements.
• Represent the business strategy for the function and partner with Human Resources, Finance, and Corporate Communications.
• Lead or represent the function in process change and improvement efforts.
• Cultivate business relationships and promote best practices with Global Development SP&Os and across R&D functions and departments.
• Doctorate degree with 2 years of relevant experience in a biopharma environment OR a Master's degree with 4 years of relevant experience OR a Bachelor's degree with 6 years of relevant experience OR an Associate’s degree with 10 years of relevant experience OR a high school diploma/GED with 12 years of relevant experience in a biopharma setting.
• MBA, PhD, PharmD, or Master’s Degree combined with 10 years of experience in lab sciences and the biopharmaceutical industry, including at least 4 years in R&D, is preferred.
• Preferred: Strong understanding of clinical development, financial budgeting, and workforce strategies.
• Preferred: Experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing organizational change initiatives, including the development of business cases.
• Preferred: Exceptional conceptual problem-solving abilities.
• Preferred: Strong skills in influencing and negotiation.
• Preferred: Proven experience in organizational management, including staff development and mentoring.
