This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +18 more states.
• Act as the finance lead for retailer deal flow throughout the entire lifecycle of retailer partnerships.
• Establish financial strategies and influence pricing philosophies.
• Propel decision-making at the portfolio level.
• Create decision frameworks and comprehensive financial models.
• Provide counsel to senior leaders during critical negotiations.
• Collaborate with Partnerships, Legal, Revenue Operations, Accounting, Product, Deal Desk, Data Science, and Analytics teams.
• Set standards for financial modeling encompassing revenue sharing, incentives, advertising, and fulfillment economics.
• Define and implement pricing philosophies, deal guidelines, pricing structures, and rate card frameworks.
• Develop partner- and portfolio-level P&Ls, forecasts, KPIs, dashboards, and evaluation frameworks for investments.
• Enhance modeling precision, business acumen, and executive storytelling among analysts and managers.
• Report to the Director of Retailer Finance.
• A minimum of 8 years of recent experience in strategic finance, corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, or management consulting, with a focus on deal flow, business development, or commercial partnerships.
• A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven ability to manage the finance workstream for intricate commercial agreements from inception and pricing to negotiation, signing, and post-close evaluation.
• Experience acting as a senior finance partner in negotiations involving C-suite and VP-level executives.
• Proficiency in advanced financial modeling using Excel or Google Sheets, including multi-scenario and sensitivity analyses for complex, multi-year agreements.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and unit economics.
• Capability to construct, reconcile, and present partner- and portfolio-level P&Ls and cash flow implications.
• Ability to clearly communicate complex analyses and recommendations to senior executives.
• An MBA or relevant advanced degree is preferred.
• Experience in marketplace, platform, gig economy, grocery delivery, or consumer internet sectors is preferred.
• At least 2 years of direct people management experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with SQL, BI tools, and AI workflows is preferred.
• Experience with pricing frameworks, rate card structures, and enterprise-scale deal desk operations is preferred.
• Knowledge of revenue recognition and partnership accounting is preferred.
• Demonstrated success in managing multiple concurrent deals and engaging with cross-functional stakeholders is preferred.
