This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Act as the primary support for the Supervisor in change management, initiative implementations, team meeting discussions, and process improvements.
• Function as the subject matter expert regarding the claims process, encompassing benefit calculations, WEBS entries and corrections, as well as DMS documentation.
• Assist the Supervisor in conducting quality control assessments and approvals for claim determinations.
• Utilize governance and metrics reporting, client feedback, and file evaluations to assess staff performance.
• Engage in recruitment efforts and aid in training new employees.
• Create new policies and procedures while enhancing existing ones.
• Work alongside the Training team to execute and oversee new processes.
• Coordinate with other departments on process or procedural matters that impact multiple teams.
• Address client issues, recognize trends, and suggest improvements to Claims Leadership.
• Act as a vital resource for clients and partners regarding file or process inquiries.
• Mentor team members on resolution strategies and assess escalation requirements.
• Represent the Claims team and DMI in client and partner meetings.
• Manage a relatively smaller caseload of Short-Term Disability files.
• Collaborate with internal teams to maintain consistency in organizational processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area, such as Business Administration or Human Resources, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in Disability Case Management, particularly focusing on Short-Term Disability.
• In-depth knowledge of disability legislation, industry best practices, and case management standards.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficient in coaching and effectively supporting team members.
• Ability to operate within DMI’s core business hours.
• Collaborative leadership skills.
• Competence in data analysis and trend identification.
• Capability in process improvement and change management.
• Client-focused problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in handling sensitive issues with professionalism.
