Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer, Notifications

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Play a key role in promoting Reddit's growth by creating and implementing algorithms for content discovery that focus on delivering a smooth and highly tailored user experience.

• Gain an in-depth understanding of the Reddit Notifications product and lead the vision for the notifications relevance team.

• Improve essential recommendation features, which include candidate retrieval, ranking models, and budget optimization, while also designing and testing new pipeline components. This role involves deploying ML models, integrating LLMs, and ensuring effective monitoring and seamless product integration throughout.

• Act as the primary expert in ML, deploying cutting-edge models at scale, influencing architectural decisions, and guaranteeing effective monitoring and smooth integration across the engineering organization.

• Collaborate across various disciplines and with ML, Product, Infrastructure, and Data Science teams at Reddit to develop technical solutions to complex challenges.

• Provide mentorship and guidance to senior and staff engineers within the team.

• Work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional organizational leaders to define long-term roadmaps, balancing immediate operational successes with strategic technical goals.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of industry experience with extensive knowledge in large-scale recommendation systems, with a preference for notifications experience.

• Demonstrated ability to identify key opportunities, establish roadmaps, and propel scalable enhancements in notifications relevance.

• Significant experience in building and deploying large-scale ML models utilizing frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.

• Experience in working with LLM in a production environment and leveraging generative AI to enhance recommendation systems.

• Proficient in object-oriented programming (Python, Golang).

• Big Plus: familiarity with state-of-the-art model architectures.

• Big Plus: experience in creating production Agentic AI frameworks.
