Senior Staff Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Develop and expand the foundational elements of Turing’s vetting platform, initially concentrating on:

• AI Interviewer

• Task-oriented vetting platform

• Fraud and integrity verification

• Create platform-wide systems rather than isolated point solutions, emphasizing extensibility, reusability, and long-term sustainability

• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Data, and Operations teams to transform vague business challenges into scalable technical systems

• Oversee architecture and implementation for high-scale, high-reliability user-facing and internal processes

• Enhance system quality across user experience, performance, observability, and developer efficiency

• Assist in defining technical direction, engineering standards, and execution discipline for a fast-paced, AI-driven organization

• Guide engineers and elevate engineering excellence, systems thinking, and execution speed

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on backend/platform systems

• Proven experience in building and scaling complex product or platform systems used in production environments

• Exceptional systems design capabilities, with the ability to conceptualize platforms, primitives, and reusable abstractions instead of one-off features

• Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguous situations and translate evolving requirements into clear technical solutions

• Strong product intuition and user empathy; able to balance architectural integrity with business agility

• Experience with workflow systems, evaluation platforms, marketplaces, trust & safety, identity/fraud, or AI-driven products is highly advantageous

• Familiarity with contemporary AI/LLM-powered systems and the capacity to pragmatically apply them in production workflows

• Proven track record of managing high-impact initiatives from conception to completion across cross-functional teams

• Excellent communication skills and a strong sense of ownership
