
Senior Staff Attorney β Insurance Defense

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
β’ Manage intricate and high-profile litigation.
β’ Assess complex substantive and procedural legal and factual matters, conduct thorough and well-reasoned legal research, and independently formulate and present defense strategies for clients.
β’ Draft complex pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motions, and briefs in support of defense strategies autonomously, leveraging your level of expertise and experience.
β’ Deliver effective and timely communication, information, legal counsel, and other services to clients and claims customers regarding legal and factual issues in a technology-oriented environment.
β’ Interact with the court, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel in accordance with established office procedures.
β’ Ensure the swift, efficient, and effective resolution of assigned cases.
β’ Independently prepare and present witnesses and evidence during trials, judicial hearings, and alternative dispute resolutions.
β’ Research, draft, file, and argue appellate briefs in reviewing courts on behalf of clients.
β’ Provide legal opinions to the Managing Attorney, staff, clients, and claims customers.
β’ Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school and a license to practice in Texas state and local federal courts.
β’ Familiarity with Harris County and surrounding areas, along with reliable transportation.
β’ Active member in good standing of the relevant Bar Association.
β’ At least 7+ years of experience in civil tort matters.
β’ Documented experience as first or second chair in jury trials/appellate cases is preferred.
β’ Strong legal research and writing capabilities.
β’ Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively are essential.
β’ Proficient communication, computer, and technological skills, along with the ability to quickly adapt to new software as needed.
β’ Proven expertise and familiarity in managing claim cases and litigation.
