This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee the creation and assessment of wellness strategies and initiatives that incorporate Indigenous teachings, trauma-informed methodologies, and evidence-based practices.
• Guide wellness personnel and provide counsel to organizational leadership regarding culturally responsive wellness policies.
• Develop, lead, and continually enhance wellness, creative, and peer-connection activities based on Indigenous cultural traditions.
• Offer individualized support and regular follow-ups to Claims Helpers and team members.
• Assist Elders in Sharing Circles and foster emotional, cultural, and mental wellness within project teams.
• Engage in the development, review, and planning of wellness programs.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in helping or human services positions, preferably within an Indigenous community or organization.
• A post-secondary diploma or degree in a relevant field (social work, counselling, Indigenous studies, health promotion, organizational psychology, etc.).
• A profound personal connection to and comprehension of Indigenous cultures, traditions, and epistemologies, obtained through lived experience.
• Proficiency in Indigenous-based mental health, trauma-informed care, and culturally safe wellness methodologies.
• Proven leadership experience in mentoring, coaching, or managing wellness programs.
• Capability to advise organizational leadership on culturally responsive wellness practices.
• Experience in facilitating workshops, circles, group sessions, or cultural wellness events.
• A commitment to cultural humility, reconciliation, and ongoing learning.
• Candidates selected for the role will need to complete a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check as a condition of employment.
