
Senior Specialist – Insider Risk & Investigations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Assist in the operation and advancement of the global Insider Risk Management program.
• Oversee reviews and investigations related to insider risk indicators, such as suspicious activities, misuse of access, policy violations, conflicts of interest, fraud indicators, misconduct, negligence, and control deficiencies.
• Evaluate behavioral context, intent, opportunity, access, business justification, and available evidence.
• Analyze relevant system activities, audit trails, communications, business records, access data, and other pertinent sources as appropriate.
• Collaborate with technical teams to interpret logs, alerts, and user activities, ensuring technical indicators are evaluated alongside behavioral and organizational context.
• Assist in refining IRM detection scenarios, escalation pathways, triage criteria, and response protocols.
• Identify recurring patterns, weak controls, process deficiencies, or cultural factors that elevate insider risk.
• Convert IRM findings into actionable preventive measures.
• Lead comprehensive internal investigations involving misconduct, data privacy, policy breaches, whistleblowing, fraud, and employee-related risks.
• Conduct sensitive employee interviews and evaluate credibility, intent, and consistency of accounts.
• Analyze evidence from business systems, communications, records, and stakeholder contributions.
• Support investigative strategies, escalation determinations, and outcome recommendations.
• Ensure investigations are thoroughly documented, appropriate in scope, and handled with confidentiality.
• Contribute to awareness and training programs across Insider Risk Management, fraud, misconduct, responsible data handling, and employee conduct.
• Assist in developing investigation playbooks, IRM standards, triage frameworks, and case management processes.
• Translate investigation results into preventive measures, control enhancements, and lessons learned.
• Provide actionable guidance for HR, Legal, Privacy, Security, and business stakeholders.
• Help enhance the overall investigations and IRM capabilities.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Legal, Privacy, Security, IT, and business stakeholders.
• Support global investigations and IRM assessments outside your region when necessary.
• Mentor junior investigators and assist in improving case quality, consistency, and documentation.
• Clearly communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven experience in conducting corporate, compliance, fraud, employee relations, insider risk, or internal investigations.
• Strong skills in investigative reasoning and interviewing.
• Ability to assess behavior, intent, credibility, and context in conjunction with available evidence.
• Understanding of the fundamental principles of an Insider Risk Management program.
• Comfort in handling sensitive employee matters with discretion and sound judgment.
• Capability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and adjust to shifting priorities.
• Proficient in navigating between investigations, IRM activities, prevention, awareness, and process enhancements within a small team.
• Willingness to collaborate with technical teams to comprehend evidence, refine alerting systems, and enhance detection methodologies.
