Senior Specialist, Data Governance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Oversee the creation and execution of data governance programs on an enterprise level.

• Work collaboratively with business stakeholders, data owners, IT departments, legal, compliance, and cybersecurity teams to establish effective data governance frameworks.

• Lead initiatives to enhance data quality, set up accountability mechanisms, and promote best practices in data stewardship.

• Formulate, maintain, and enforce extensive data governance policies, standards, and procedures.

• Define and document the structures for data ownership, stewardship, and accountability across various business domains.

• Create and manage data governance frameworks, councils, and working groups.

• Continuously monitor and enhance data quality through systematic profiling, validation, and remediation of issues.

• Collaborate with data owners and stewards to identify, analyze, and rectify data defects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience in data governance, data management, or a related field.

• Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of related experience.

• Alternatively, a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, SOX, ITAR) and industry standards (DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM).

• Proven experience in implementing data literacy programs.

• Professional certifications in data governance (CDMP, DGSP, CIPP) or related compliance fields.

• Experience with various ERP systems and enterprise software (SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle, CostPoint, etc.).

• Strong comprehension of data architecture, data modeling, systems integration, and data management best practices.

• Experience working with cross-functional teams to drive outcomes in an agile environment.

• Understanding of cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and contemporary data architectures.
