Senior Specialist, Applications Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with business management to ensure alignment with business goals and effectively handle all escalations.

• Provide application support.

• Guarantee application security, audit, and process compliance for systems within managed projects, support, and enhancements.

• Ensure availability of Subject Matter Experts (SME) for the application systems being supported.

• Maintain 24/7 application availability and optimize application performance.

• Engage in software development.

• Execute or assist in solution design, configuration, development, and unit testing for new projects and enhancement requests.

• Monitor and track enhancement and support deliverables from service providers (e.g., AMS) as outlined in the SLA.

• Oversee and track project deliverables from the product team according to the agreed timeline.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess 6+ years of experience in application development.

• Strong expertise in Java (v11+) and Spring Boot (v2+).

• Experience with Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, and Spring Cloud.

• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture.

• Practical experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (Azure preferred).

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and DevSecOps practices.

• Proficient in SQL and PL/SQL across Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL databases.

• Experience with unit testing frameworks (Junit preferred).

• Knowledge of Git, Maven/Gradle, and API documentation tools (Swagger/OpenAPI).

• Experience in project management utilizing Agile methodology.

• Familiarity with message brokers (Kafka).

• Exposure to frontend technologies (Angular, React) is advantageous.

• Understanding of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and event-driven architecture.

• Working knowledge in freight forwarding/consolidation and/or 3rd Party Logistics.

• Process-oriented with the ability to engage with business users to gather requirements and validate solution design.

• Capability to analyze business requirements and translate them into system processes.

• Familiarity with the freight forwarding/consolidation and/or 3rd Party Logistics industry is a plus, especially in ocean freight.

• Hands-on problem-solving approach, attention to detail, and innovative solution design.

• Team-oriented and adept at managing diverse workforces.

• Exceptional presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Proficient in English.
