
Senior Special Structural Analysis Engineer – Nuclear

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate with structural engineers and professionals from various disciplines.
• Ensure the successful completion of project outputs that meet technical, quality, and project control standards.
• Act as a technical liaison with clients and be the primary technical resource on projects.
• Oversee engineering design projects for new nuclear facilities as well as upgrades or modifications to nuclear power plants and other safety-critical structures.
• Prepare design calculations and formulate specifications.
• Assist designers in the development of drawings.
• Mentor others in producing engineering deliverables.
• Conduct structural analysis of safety-oriented structures under seismic and impactive/impulsive loading scenarios using computational tools.
• Travel to client and vendor locations for design reviews, and to construction sites for coordination and field verification may be necessary.
• Lead the application of automation and AI in engineering workflows, including the review of automated outputs.
• MS degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• A minimum of five years of experience as part of a project team in the design and analysis of structures.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, STRUDL, SASSI, ANSYS, or LS-DYNA.
• Familiarity with analysis and design codes and standards, including ASCE 4, ASCE 43, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.
• Knowledge of structural design and assessment for blast loads utilizing single-degree-of-freedom tools, including SBEDS, in compliance with UFC 3-340-02 and PDC guidelines.
• Experience in designing and assessing structures exposed to explosive loading through explicit dynamic analysis in LS-DYNA.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must not require U.S. work authorization sponsorship.
• A Ph.D. degree, experience with power plant or industrial structures, on-site construction support experience, and a PE or SE license are preferred but not mandatory.
• Willingness or capability to guide others using automation and AI tools.
• Experience with Python, MATLAB, or advanced Excel scripting for engineering automation is appreciated but not essential.
