Senior Somali Linguistic QA Tester – Mac M-Series Required

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Somalia.

📋 Description

• Perform linguistic, stylistic, and functional quality assurance on localized Somali software interfaces and AI-generated materials.

• Detect, document, and track linguistic mistakes, visual layout issues, and functional problems utilizing standard issue-tracking processes.

• Uphold project glossaries, style guidelines, and brand-specific localization criteria.

• Ensure that the localized content is culturally relevant, idiomatically accurate, and tailored for the Somali audience.

• Deliver constructive feedback and linguistic solutions to remote localization managers and QA leaders in clear English.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 2+ years of relevant experience in Linguistic QA, software localization testing, proofreading, or professional translation (English to Somali).

• Native proficiency in Somali with a strong command of grammar, typography, and orthography.

• Proficient written English language skills.

• Access to a Mac computer featuring an Apple Silicon M-series chip (M1, M2, M3, M4, or newer).

• Capacity to distinguish between critical linguistic errors, cosmetic layout issues, and stylistic preferences.

• Solid understanding of contemporary Somali cultural nuances, localized language trends, and regional idiomatic phrases.

• Comfortable navigating new software interfaces, adhering to detailed testing protocols, and reporting technical/linguistic issues clearly in English.

• Reliable high-speed internet access and a dedicated workspace suitable for remote independent contract work.

• Outstanding attention to detail with the ability to spot minor grammatical, formatting, and UI mistakes.
