Senior Software Test Engineer – NIRIS, Security Clearance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands.

📋 Description

• Develop, sustain, and enhance both manual and automated test cases for NIRIS baselines.

• Conduct functional, regression, integration, system, and release testing.

• Create, maintain, and refactor automated test scripts utilizing frameworks such as Robot Framework, Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.

• Assist in supporting test automation frameworks within the NATO Software Factory (Azure DevOps / GitLab CI/CD).

• Execute interface and interoperability testing for tactical data links and external systems.

• Prepare test data and assist in the preparation of test events (e.g., CWIX, customer visits).

• Log, track, retest, and validate defects using Jira / Zephyr or similar tools.

• Generate and update test documentation including test plans, test cases, execution reports, regression reports, and release readiness inputs.

• Engage in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

• Provide test evidence, KPIs, and release recommendations to inform acceptance and governance decisions.

• Actively identify risks, blockers, dependencies, and opportunities for process enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software testing & QA (complex/distributed systems).

• Professional proficiency in English (both oral and written).

• Experience working in Scrum/Agile environments.

• More than 3 years of experience in manual testing (functional, regression, integration, release).

• Over 3 years of experience in defect management (identification, reporting, retesting, verification).

• At least 2 years of experience in API/Interface testing (RESTful services, messaging systems).

• More than 2 years of experience in Web GUI & CLI testing.

• At least 2 years of experience in interoperability testing (external systems, data exchange).

• Over 2 years of experience in test automation (Robot Framework, Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar tools).

• More than 1 year of experience in scripting (Python, Java, Bash, or Ansible).

• At least 1 year of experience working with containers (Docker or similar).

• Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Zephyr, GitLab, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience in creating documentation including test plans, cases, reports, defect reports, and release readiness.

• Proficiency in OS troubleshooting in Windows Server & Linux (IP, DNS, HTTP, certificates).
