
Senior Software Systems Engineer – Autonomous Vehicles

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Design, assess, and construct architectures for SAE Level 2 to Level 4 driver assistance and autonomous vehicle technologies.
• Analyze interactions of autonomous vehicles concerning vehicle requirements to facilitate data gathering for system training and validation.
• Spearhead verification activities for autonomous vehicle systems, including architecture and design validation, test strategy development in collaboration with the System Integration & Verification Test Leads, and evaluating and prioritizing test outcomes.
• Lead and present data analyses, collaborating with product and engineering teams to influence design choices based on requirements and system behavior needs.
• Create methodologies for assessing and comparing the influence of ODDs on key performance metrics, translating data and findings into significant recommendations.
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Over 5 years of demonstrated industry experience.
• Strong analytical and architectural expertise in both development and production environments.
• Background in systems engineering, robotics development, or systems integration and testing.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the capability to foster alignment among product development, engineering, and testing teams.
• Familiarity with intricate hardware and software systems.
• Proficiency in Model-Based Systems Engineering methods and tools, particularly with Magic Cyber Systems Engineer / Cameo.
• Experience in software and/or tool development focused on modeling, analysis, and utility languages such as Python, and the application of AI tools to enhance requirements and test coverage analysis.
• Proven success in applying the systems V-Model to complex engineering projects, preferably in advanced driver assistance or autonomous vehicle systems adhering to standards such as ISO 26262.
• Strong technical expertise in at least one area of robotic systems development (e.g., sensing, perception, motion control).
