Senior Software QA Automation Engineer – API, UI, Performance, CI/CD

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Egypt.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and sustain scalable test automation frameworks from the ground up.

• Design automated tests for APIs, user interfaces, databases, and data quality/integrity verification.

• Construct reusable automation architecture, libraries, utilities, fixtures, and reporting systems.

• Ensure completeness, accuracy, consistency, duplication, and data integrity across various systems.

• Develop and carry out performance and load testing.

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure critical failures can prevent flawed releases.

• Analyze automation failures, determine root causes, and collaborate with developers to fix defects.

• Define and uphold test coverage across APIs, user interfaces, backend services, and data pipelines.

• Contribute to the test strategy and quality engineering practices across various teams.

• Enhance automation reliability, execution speed, maintainability, and coverage.

• Mentor fellow QA engineers and advocate for engineering best practices within the QA team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional QA/testing experience, with a strong emphasis on automation.

• Demonstrated experience in building or significantly revamping automation frameworks.

• Proficient programming skills in at least one of Python, Java, or TypeScript.

• Extensive hands-on experience with API automation using REST Assured, Karate, pytest, or similar frameworks.

• Significant experience with UI automation employing Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or comparable tools.

• Strong SQL proficiency for automated data validation and database testing.

• Practical knowledge of performance/load testing using JMeter, k6, Gatling, or related tools.

• Experience with integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

• Solid understanding of test automation architecture, design patterns, maintainability, and scalability.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum software development methodologies.

• Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

• Candidates who primarily possess experience in manual testing, test-case execution, or writing tests within an existing framework without substantial framework-development experience may not be a suitable fit.
