This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.
• Assist Red Hat's clients with a range of network-related challenges concerning Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Red Hat solutions across various hybrid cloud environments.
• Identify and resolve intricate technical issues involving multiple components, such as packet loss, bonding and teaming, IPv4 and IPv6, Control Groups, firewall (iptables), Load Balancer, network interface controllers (NICs), and provide comprehensive root cause analysis.
• Enhance your skills through a thorough onboarding process, including obtaining certifications like Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
• Continuously refine your abilities to stay updated with the latest technology trends, as well as new products and features in Red Hat's offerings.
• Collaborate with customer cases alongside in-house support engineers and developers to foster innovative solutions and elevate customer satisfaction.
• Contribute to the global knowledge management system at Red Hat.
• Work together with colleagues on various side projects, aiding the success of the global team and contributing to the open source community.
• Organize your workload to ensure that all customer inquiries are addressed promptly and effectively resolved.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with Linux in an enterprise context.
• Proven professional experience in support, sustaining, or development engineering or other relevant roles within an enterprise setting.
• Experience in the installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance of Linux operating systems.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to analyze and effectively resolve complex customer issues. Proficiency in Mandarin is essential.
• Capability to manage conflicting priorities, demonstrate initiative, and maintain a customer-focused approach.
• A strong passion for problem-solving and tackling the most challenging customer and technical issues.
• Enthusiastic about personal development, with a desire to enhance both technical and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to function as part of a team, showcasing an open-minded and collaborative mindset.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Familiarity with containers is a significant advantage.
• Knowledge of networking, firewalls, security, clustering, web servers, and databases utilizing Linux is beneficial.
• Experience with non-x64 architectures is a plus.
• Familiarity with Linux scripting languages is an added benefit.
• Experience in providing enterprise-level technical support; experience assisting customers with PaaS or SaaS technologies is a bonus.
• Background in hosted platform environments, managed application services, or large-scale application deployments.
• Proficient in Linux or Unix operating systems.
• Skilled with Linux troubleshooting tools such as curl, Wireshark, and crash analysis.
• Familiar with cloud technologies and platforms like Azure, containers, and Kubernetes.
• Previous experience with Azure, CRI-O, Kubernetes, containers, and Open vSwitch is advantageous.
• Acquainted with developer workflows, Continuous Integration (Jenkins), and Continuous Deployment practices is beneficial.
• Comfortable logging issues and utilizing issue tracking tools like Jira.
