Senior Software Engineering Manager, ACTT Datalinks

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.

📋 Description

• Oversee daily operations and provide technical guidance to software engineers, project engineers, and support teams in the development, integration, and testing of embedded software within an Agile framework for software-defined radio architectures.

• Manage the scope, schedule, and budget of software engineering projects utilizing the Earned Value Management System (EVMS) for performance tracking; identify and address project risks/issues, escalating to upper management as necessary.

• Ensure reliable program execution and foster continuous improvement.

• Supervise and engage in the creation of engineering bids and proposals.

• Design and implement strategic workforce and staffing plans to achieve business goals and uphold high-performance standards, including recruitment/hiring, while actively addressing employee performance and career development initiatives.

• Ensure adherence to Collins Aerospace development processes and standard work protocols.

• Collaborate with various programs and engineering teams to pinpoint efficiencies, share resources, and promote best practices, necessitating effective communication of objectives and status to diverse audiences with varying levels of understanding of products and technology.

• Develop and maintain internal and external networks, ensuring alignment and transparency with stakeholders while building relationships with peers across RCP Engineering, Value Stream Leadership, and government clients.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess, or have the ability to obtain, a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. (The selected candidate will undergo a government security investigation/reinstatement and must fulfill eligibility criteria.)

• US citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for security clearance.

• Proven experience in leading cross-functional technical teams in software development, integration, and testing, specifically with FPGA and Crypto Module integration.

• Familiarity with embedded software development and proficiency in C++, demonstrating a strong ability to guide and lead software development processes.

• Experience in cost account management (EVMS) and schedule management.

• Capable of motivating and challenging engineers while fostering engagement within a high-performing team environment.

• Hands-on experience with Agile development methodologies.

• Software development experience in C, C++, or related languages, along with experience developing on Red Hat Linux or a comparable operating system.

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with at least 7 years of experience.
