Senior Software Engineer – Verification Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Estonia.

📋 Description

• Creating, developing, and managing VP's backend services, which include the orchestration engine and the automated decision-making pipeline, emphasizing reliability, scalability, and maintainability.

• Implementing essential orchestration features such as multi-method flow execution, branching and fallback logic, and webhook integrations.

• Enhancing the resilience of production-critical systems through backpressure and idempotency management, backwards-compatibility testing, SPOF elimination, and comprehensive end-to-end monitoring.

• Engaging in on-call rotations, incident response, and postmortem analyses to ensure the health of our most vital flows.

• Promoting engineering excellence through code reviews, continuous integration practices, runbook documentation, and mentoring colleagues.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in developing large-scale backend applications using Python, including expertise in event-driven and asynchronous architectures with message queues (e.g., SQS or similar).

• Demonstrated ownership of production-critical services, with a clear understanding of the responsibilities that come with being on-call and a commitment to reliability.

• Extensive experience in designing resilient distributed systems, focusing on idempotency, backpressure, retries, and backwards compatibility.

• Strong grasp of modular design methodologies and SOLID principles.

• Practical experience in creating scalable and maintainable APIs.

• Proficiency in various testing methodologies that guarantee robust and reliable software.

• Solid understanding of relational database concepts.

• Familiarity with structured logging and observability practices.

• Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
