
Senior Software Engineer – VA CCPC DM2

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Act as the lead developer responsible for producing the complete monthly cycle of Veteran Copayment Statements for CCPC Debt Management (DM2), affecting over one million Veterans.
• Create, update, and implement production code utilized for generating copayment statements, billing notifications, and specialized inserts.
• Ensure the timely distribution of billing communications, encompassing letters and statement-level messaging related to billing updates, regulatory modifications, or EHRM rollout effects.
• Establish, oversee, and monitor statement-generation workflows to guarantee accuracy, reliability, and timely completion.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data issues, formatting discrepancies, generation failures, and production anomalies.
• Collaborate with business owners, billing specialists, and policy stakeholders on language modifications, disclaimers, debt-collection information, and EHRM-driven updates.
• Provide continuous operational support, including daily monitoring, issue escalation, quality checks, and output validation.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for statement logic, production procedures, communication templates, and release updates.
• Assist in operational readiness for EHRM-related releases that affect VA debt-collection workflows, coordinating with VA and Oracle Health technical teams.
• Ensure service continuity and uninterrupted delivery of communications to Veterans.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, systems engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8 years of experience working with VA CCPC DM2 systems.
• 8 years of additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education.
• Experience in developing or supporting production code for large-scale financial, billing, or statement-generation systems.
• Background in high-volume print or electronic statement production environments.
• Knowledge of EHRM-related system transitions, particularly those affecting billing or debt-collection operations.
• Strong software development capabilities with the ability to maintain and enhance existing codebases that support statement-generation processes.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities, with a knack for diagnosing and resolving issues under tight deadlines.
• High attention to detail, ensuring complete accuracy in billing content, formatting, and communication templates.
• Capability to manage time-sensitive recurring workflows without any margin for delay.
• Outstanding communication skills for collaborating with policy owners, billing teams, leadership, and external partners.
• Strong documentation skills for code, templates, processing steps, release notes, and monthly workflows.
• Ability to foresee operational impacts of system changes and maintain continuity of essential monthly communications.
• US Citizenship with the capability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
