Senior Software Engineer, SAP ABAP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Provide technical assistance for the maintenance and enhancement of SAP Financial, Procurement, and Subledger systems, including integrations.

• Execute SAP HANA/ABAP development based on business requirements.

• Engage in implementation design and development activities to support the adoption of new SAP solutions.

• Deliver Clean Core technical solutions that align with business needs and adhere to NBCUniversal development standards.

• Create SAP HANA CDS views, OData services, SQL objects, and ABAP Managed Database Procedures.

• Implement Clean Core principles, classifications, and perform ABAP Test Cockpit checks.

• Utilize RAP and key-user extensibility frameworks for customizations that comply with Clean Core standards.

• Assist with integration, troubleshooting, debugging, and enhancements across SAP Financial, Procurement, Subledger, and related systems.

• Adhere to IT and SAP methodologies, software development lifecycle practices, and change-control processes.

• Collaborate with onsite and offshore resources, product teams, business stakeholders, and engineering partners.

• Provide production support outside standard business hours and on weekends when necessary.

• Manage tasks across multiple projects with tight deadlines while ensuring quality and maintaining a problem-solving focus.

• Contribute to Project Keystone, NBCUniversal’s multi-year Finance transformation aimed at achieving a globally standardized, flexible, data-driven platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline with a focus on information technology, or an equivalent combination of education and training.

• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on SAP experience, with strong skills in SAP Suite on HANA and S/4HANA.

• Proven experience as a Developer or Senior Developer on more than three projects.

• Proficiency in SAP HANA CDS view and OData service development, including SQL and AMDPs.

• Familiarity with SAP Clean Core principles, released APIs, in-app extensibility, key-user extensibility, Clean Core classifications, and ATC checks.

• Experience with the RAP programming model and Clean Core-compliant extensibility frameworks.

• Background in ECC development using BAdIs, BAPIs, LSMW, ALE, RFC calls, IDocs, BDC, business objects, classes and methods, Adobe Forms, Smart Forms, SAPscript, Data Dictionary, and ALV.

• Strong ABAP debugging skills and workflow experience.

• Experience with SAP BRIM, including SOM, CM, CC, CI/FICA, and FICO.

• Involvement in a comprehensive BRIM deployment lifecycle, encompassing design, build, testing, and support.

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA BRIM integration across SAP modules and ECC systems for business partner master data.

• Development experience in S/4HANA, including OData using CDS and AMDP, workflow support and debugging, SAP RAP and CAP programming models, Native SQL, ADBC, External Views, ABAP Core Data Services, AMDP procedures, Text Search, and ALV on HANA.

• Experience in migrating custom code from ECC or Suite on HANA to S/4HANA, utilizing technical remediation and Clean Core frameworks.

• Practical experience in creating custom CDS views and enhancing standard CDS views and AMDP classes.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both business and IT stakeholders.

• Knowledge of SAP Build and SAP Build Work Zone.

• Awareness of embedded AI capabilities in SAP Build, including SAP Joule for developers and Joule AI Agents.

• Familiarity with SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, SAP BTP Integration Suite, SAP Business Application Studio, and SAP Build.

• Experience in supporting order and contract management processes, business partners, and related master and transaction data.

• Experience with Convergent Mediation, SAP BTP, and SAP API Gateway.

• Relevant SAP technical certification is preferred.

• Practical knowledge of SAP HANA code performance rules and guidelines.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
