Senior Software Engineer – Rust

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Design and develop robust Rust services and foundational libraries that drive Kraken’s core infrastructure.

• Emphasize correctness, security, and long-term maintainability in all projects.

• Create reusable, testable, and highly efficient code tailored for scalability, observability, and operational resilience.

• Collaborate on the architecture of large-scale distributed systems.

• Develop low-latency, fault-tolerant services that support global trading and internal platforms.

• Contribute to a high-standard engineering culture alongside seasoned Rust engineers.

• Build systems that enhance Kraken’s secure, resilient, and scalable financial infrastructure.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in software engineering.

• Proven experience in building and scaling shared systems, internal platforms, and supporting multiple product roadmaps.

• Expertise in writing network services or asynchronous code using Rust.

• A security-first approach during system design processes.

• Capability to autonomously debug issues across the operating system, network, and application stack.

• Strong understanding of distributed systems and technologies, including RPC protocols, Kafka, and event-driven systems.

• Ability to work collaboratively with product teams to gather requirements and constraints.

• Competence to take full end-to-end ownership of systems and libraries.
