Senior Software Engineer – RPA, Computer Vision

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +42 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead the design and ongoing maintenance of OpenCV and image-based automation frameworks tailored for revenue cycle management workflows.

• Architect robust automation solutions for legacy desktop, thick-client, and virtualized environments, including Citrix/RDP.

• Spearhead the development of OCR and document-extraction pipelines for Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), remittance advice, correspondence, and payer documents.

• Manage complex Selenium-based automation for payer portals and electronic health record (EHR) web interfaces.

• Design, implement, and maintain automation frameworks utilizing Python, OpenCV, PyAutoGUI, and Selenium.

• Promote the adoption and integration of AI/ML capabilities, including OCR, NLP, and predictive analytics.

• Oversee end-to-end integration with billing software, EHR systems, and healthcare web portals.

• Advocate for HIPAA and HITRUST compliance while establishing engineering standards.

• Define documentation standards and ensure thorough technical documentation is maintained.

• Implement monitoring, alerting, and optimization practices to ensure production reliability.

• Design resilient architectures that connect legacy desktop systems, virtualized environments, and modern platforms.

• Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), operations, and clinical stakeholders to automate intricate manual workflows.

• Enforce secure handling of credentials, logging, and audit trails.

• Architect and govern Azure services that support enterprise-scale automation.

• Mentor junior and mid-level software engineers through code reviews, pairing sessions, and technical advice.

⛳️ Requirements

• Expert-level proficiency in Python programming, encompassing advanced patterns, performance optimization, and production-grade software design.

• Extensive, proven experience with OpenCV for image recognition, template matching, and document/image data extraction in production automation.

• Significant hands-on experience with image-based desktop automation libraries, such as PyAutoGUI.

• Demonstrated experience with Selenium for intricate browser-based automation.

• Thorough understanding of healthcare revenue cycle management (RCM) workflows, including billing, coding, claims, and denial management.

• In-depth knowledge of HIPAA, HITRUST, and healthcare security best practices.

• Exceptional analytical, debugging, and documentation capabilities.

• Ability to convey technical decisions to non-technical audiences effectively.

• Proficiency in version control tools and branching strategies, such as Git.

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, primarily focused on Python automation and computer vision-based robotic process automation (RPA).

• Capability to function as a senior contributor right from the start of the contract engagement with minimal ramp-up time.

• Proficiency in breaking down complex problems, defining solution architectures, and guiding teams toward successful delivery.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Advanced experience with OCR engines like Tesseract and PaddleOCR or cloud document-intelligence services.

• Experience in architecting automations within Citrix, RDP, or other virtualized/remote environments.

• Extensive experience applying AI/ML tools such as NLP and predictive modeling to production automation.

• Extensive experience in leading the automation of healthcare revenue cycle workflows, including eligibility checks, claims processing, payments, and denial management.

• Expert-level experience in designing and integrating with third-party healthcare software ecosystems, including EHR/EMR systems, billing platforms, and web portals.

• Strong familiarity with EHR/billing systems and healthcare web portals at an architectural level.

• Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure, encompassing Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Key Vault, App Services, and Azure DevOps.

• Advanced knowledge of logging, alerting, and observability tools.
