Senior Software Engineer – Risk & Pricing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Identify and resolve architectural challenges, make practical trade-offs, and assist in the evolution of systems towards enhanced scalability, reliability, and long-term maintainability.

• Serve as a trusted technical authority by advocating engineering best practices, facilitating technical discussions, and aiding teams in achieving high-quality solutions.

• Develop secure, scalable, extensible, and cost-effective solutions while upholding high standards of coding and documentation.

• Decompose complex initiatives into manageable workstreams, delivering incremental value through iterative development.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of practical backend development experience, with a strong preference for proficiency in PHP, particularly utilizing the Symfony framework and Python.

• Demonstrated experience in designing, building, and maintaining robust backend systems in production settings, with significant expertise in developing and integrating RESTful APIs.

• Practical SQL experience in application development, showcasing strong proficiency in relational data modeling (including table design, keys, and constraints) and crafting complex, efficient queries to support business functionalities.

• Experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and contemporary DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and infrastructure automation.

• Familiarity with Kafka or similar event-driven messaging systems is considered a significant advantage.

• Strong understanding of automated testing strategies, including unit and integration testing, with a focus on delivering reliable, high-quality software that aligns with overarching quality standards.

• A strong emphasis on creating solutions that provide measurable value for users and contribute to business outcomes.

• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to effectively engage in cross-functional teams and foster a supportive engineering culture.

• A proactive approach to implementing security best practices and ensuring adherence to compliance throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Fluent in both written and spoken English.
