Senior Software Engineer – React Native

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and take ownership of high-quality React Native features from initial client challenges and solution design through to implementation, launch, evaluation, and refinement.

• Collaborate with Product and Design teams to create responsive and reliable financial experiences.

• Engage in product discovery, trading, and streamlining client journeys.

• Work with APIs and manage dynamic or real-time data.

• Make informed decisions regarding state management, rendering, performance, architecture, and reliability.

• Elevate the product-engineering standards through technical discussions, code reviews, collaboration, and product ownership.

• Assist in developing Kraken’s new application for Asian markets.

• Provide guidance to the team on regional UX and design expectations, as well as firewall and connectivity limitations, vendors, and tools like telemetry solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience with React Native, including the deployment of significant production applications.

• Strong decision-making skills in architectural and implementation aspects within a modern mobile codebase.

• A product-oriented mindset with sound product judgment.

• Complete ownership over features, including the utilization of metrics, experimentation, client behavior analysis, and feedback.

• Experience in creating responsive, data-rich applications that leverage APIs and real-time data.

• Ability to collaborate closely with Product and Design teams using proficient written and verbal English.

• Familiarity with AI tools like Cursor, Copilot, or Claude while maintaining engineering judgment and quality standards.

• Proven track record of building and launching consumer mobile applications targeted at Asian markets.

• Understanding of Asian UX and design principles, technical constraints, firewall and connectivity issues, and challenges associated with launches.

• Capability to articulate how regional technical and launch challenges have been effectively addressed in the past.

• Preferred: experience in fintech, trading, crypto, payments, or financial technology.

• Preferred: knowledge of real-time or streaming data along with mobile performance, responsiveness, and reliability.

• Preferred: experience in mobile and web development or within startup/small-to-medium technology companies.

• Preferred: native mobile development experience in Swift or Kotlin.

• Proficiency in Chinese, such as Mandarin, or another Asian language is a plus.
