Senior Software Engineer – React Native

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage high-quality React Native features from start to finish

• Convert vague client challenges into effective solution designs, implementations, launches, evaluations, and refinements

• Collaborate with Product and Design teams to create responsive and reliable financial experiences

• Engage in product discovery, trading, and streamlined client journeys

• Utilize APIs and dynamic or real-time data while making informed decisions regarding state management, rendering, performance, architecture, and reliability

• Participate in technical discussions, conduct code reviews, and collaborate to enhance the standard of product engineering

• Contribute to the development of Kraken’s new application for Asian markets

• Provide guidance to the team on regional UX and design expectations, firewall/connectivity limitations, vendors, and telemetry tools

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience with React Native, particularly in delivering impactful production applications

• Strong decision-making skills regarding architecture and implementation within a modern mobile codebase

• A product-oriented mindset with keen product judgment

• Comprehensive feature ownership from defining problems to launching, measuring, and iterating

• Experience in creating responsive, data-rich applications using APIs and dynamic or real-time data

• Proficiency in written and verbal English

• Comfort with AI tools such as Cursor, Copilot, or Claude while maintaining engineering judgment and quality accountability

• Demonstrated success in building and delivering consumer mobile applications for Asian markets

• Familiarity with Asian UX and design norms, technical constraints, firewall and connectivity issues, and launch hurdles

• Preferred: experience in fintech, trading, crypto, payments, or financial technology

• Preferred: experience with real-time or streaming data and mobile performance/reliability

• Preferred: experience in mobile and web development or with startups/small-to-medium tech companies

• Preferred: knowledge of Swift or Kotlin

• Preferred: proficiency in Chinese/Mandarin or another Asian language
