Senior Software Engineer, Quality Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage frameworks, tools, and CI/CD infrastructure for Alpaca’s engineers.

• Program in Go, create automated testing frameworks, and engage with application code and Kubernetes.

• Transform the utilization of AI to enhance quality and automate testing coverage.

• Design and implement automated testing frameworks for REST and gRPC APIs.

• Expedite test generation using AI and LLM-based tools.

• Construct and sustain CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitHub Actions and Google Cloud Build.

• Perform load, stress, and scalability testing to ensure the platform accommodates demand.

• Introduce chaos engineering methodologies for resilience testing.

• Standardize tools and infrastructure to enhance the developer experience.

• Work collaboratively with teams to improve test coverage, reliability, and speed.

• Guide product engineers to foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience as a software engineer in building and maintaining production systems.

• Proficient in strongly typed programming languages with at least 1 year of experience in Go.

• Well-versed in AI-assisted engineering and LLM-based tools.

• Experience in creating and maintaining CI pipelines, preferably using GitHub Actions or Google Cloud Build.

• Designed and developed automated testing frameworks, with an understanding of the challenges posed by microservices in testing.

• Familiar with Kubernetes at an advanced level, supported by prior job experience or certifications.

• Background in a startup environment, managing significant technical debt and ambiguous processes.

• Capable of managing tasks from inception to completion, including requirements gathering and implementation.
