Senior Software Engineer – Python/TypeScript

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of business automation from start to finish. You collaborate closely with operations, sales, and customer support teams to pinpoint workflow inefficiencies and manual tasks that are ready for automation. You proactively identify problems, define solutions, implement them, deploy them, and assess their impact.

• Create and deploy AI-powered systems that eliminate manual tasks. These are not simple chatbot interfaces; you are developing intelligent workflows and orchestration layers that can autonomously manage intricate, multi-step business processes — complete with the necessary guardrails and error management for reliable use in a fintech setting. You design systems that inspire trust through their dependability, rather than mere compliance.

• Track and analyze all metrics. You establish the key performance indicators that matter: recovered hours, reduced error rates, shortened cycle times, and increased operational efficiency. You communicate impact in business language. "We automated X and saved Y hours per week" is your way of conveying success. If a solution fails to deliver value, the data will inform you before anyone else notices.

• Promote innovation through implementation, not presentations. Your most convincing argument is a functional system, rather than a PowerPoint presentation. You convert skeptics into advocates by demonstrating their own time savings. You develop systems that enhance the entire operations organization, not just your own team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of professional software engineering experience — you have a deep understanding of how engineering and business systems function at scale, rather than just familiarity with AI demonstrations.

• Strong expertise in Python and TypeScript/JavaScript — you are capable of building production systems in both languages. Not scripts. Not notebooks. Production-level code.

• Full-stack proficiency that includes backend services, APIs, and frontend interfaces. You are capable of creating the automation pipeline as well as the dashboard that monitors its performance.

• 1–2+ years of extensive experience working with LLMs and AI agents in production environments — not just side projects or hackathons. You have developed real systems that manage actual workflows. You can discuss failure modes, cost optimization, prompt engineering techniques, and model selection considerations based on your experience.

• Experience in constructing multi-agent or agentic workflows — including task decomposition, agent specialization, orchestration, and error recovery. You have utilized frameworks such as Claude Code, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, or custom agent frameworks and can articulate the reasoning behind your choice of approach.

• Regular, hands-on use of AI coding tools — including Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, or similar technologies. You don't just use these tools; you explore their full potential. You possess a personal workflow that enhances your efficiency and can teach it to others.

• Ability to engage directly with non-technical stakeholders. You can collaborate with a support lead, comprehend their workflow, and convert it into a technical solution without needing a mediator.
