Senior Software Engineer, Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop backend services and APIs that link Business Applications workflows with Thumbtack's product and platform offerings.

• Transition agentic and AI-driven workflow prototypes into production, ensuring the reliability, observability, and human oversight essential for business-critical operations.

• Design reusable integration patterns that enable internal tools, external systems, and agents to perform safe, auditable actions across various platforms.

• Collaborate with business and engineering teams to grasp operational workflows and transform high-value challenges into sustainable backend solutions.

• Assist in establishing the technical foundation for a BusApps platform that facilitates dependable integrations, secure automation, and production-level AI workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive backend engineering experience in developing production services, APIs, or platform functionalities.

• Strong technical judgment for integrations where reliability, security, data accuracy, and auditability are of utmost importance.

• Ability to convert ambiguous operational workflows into precise technical designs that can be incrementally delivered.

• Excellent collaboration skills with engineering, business, and operational teams, especially when balancing technical constraints and business requirements.

• Aptitude for quickly learning new domains, including internal systems, external business applications, and AI-driven workflows, with the discernment to determine when automation requires human oversight.
