Senior Software Engineer, Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, create, and manage Payabli's cloud infrastructure.

• Make key architectural choices regarding networking, computing, storage, and security.

• Take ownership of and enhance CI/CD pipelines from start to finish.

• Develop automated testing, stage rollouts, rollback strategies, and deployment observability.

• Enhance the local development experience.

• Create secure environments for AI coding agents and assistants within PCI-compliant infrastructure.

• Define and lead the platform roadmap in collaboration with engineering leadership.

• Implement PCI-DSS scoping, network segmentation, secrets management, access controls, and audit trails.

• Establish monitoring, alerting, and observability capabilities.

• Document best practices, create runbooks, and set infrastructure standards.

• Assist engineers in becoming more self-reliant and productive.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in infrastructure or platform engineering.

• Proven experience in building and managing production AWS environments that handle real traffic at scale.

• Extensive knowledge of AWS, including ECS/EKS, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, and CloudFormation/CDK/Terraform.

• Strong background in CI/CD practices using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar tools.

• Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code.

• Understanding of network segmentation, least-privilege access, secrets management, and encryption both at rest and in transit.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Experience in fintech, payments, or environments regulated by PCI-DSS is a plus.

• Familiarity with supporting AI/ML workflows, coding agents, or LLM tooling is advantageous.

• Knowledge of the .NET ecosystem on AWS is desirable.

• Experience in building developer platforms or internal tools is considered a plus.

• Background in observability stacks and incident response/on-call experience is a plus.

• Experience with Kubernetes, particularly EKS on AWS, is a plus.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
