Senior Software Engineer, Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Taiwan.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and oversee internal infrastructure tools (such as CI/CD pipelines, observability platforms, and self-service portals) with an emphasis on usability and enhancing developer productivity.

• Create full-stack solutions (from frontend to backend) to automate service deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management processes.

• Produce clean, maintainable code (in nodejs/python) and infrastructure-as-code (using Terraform) prioritizing simplicity and reusability.

• Develop and implement frameworks for monitoring service health, logging, tracing, and managing incidents.

• Create tools to ensure adherence to security protocols, cost optimization (FinOps), and best practices for reliability.

• Work in collaboration with SRE and DevOps teams to refine service SLAs and manage error budgets.

• Establish and promote coding standards, API design patterns, and tooling conventions across engineering teams.

• Investigate AI/ML applications to improve tooling functionalities (such as anomaly detection, automated root cause analysis, and LLM-powered ChatOps).

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of full-stack development experience with an emphasis on infrastructure or platform tooling.

• Expertise in modern programming languages (including Python, Java, Node.js, Go) and frameworks (like Nest and Spring).

• Strong grasp of distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native technologies (such as Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS/GCP/Azure).

• Proven ability to design tools that effectively balance flexibility and governance (for instance, policy-as-code and guardrails).

• An eye for aesthetics in creating clean abstractions, intuitive APIs, and seamless user experiences.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or comparable practical experience.

• Practical experience with LLM-based tools (like GitHub Copilot and ChatGPT) to enhance development efficiency and code quality.

• Experience in building or integrating AI-driven systems (such as LLM-based automation, ChatOps, and anomaly detection) is highly preferred.

• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (preferably GCP), including infrastructure design and cost optimization.

• A strong sense of productivity is essential.
